Well, it‘s about time! After chasing…and catching Chichen Itza last January (and pausing for a couple of medical procedure adventures [including a new – ceramic of course – hip for Marsha])…we‘re off on a cultural and culinary jaunt through magical, and magically delicious Sicily with our favorite tour group, SmarTours!
We’ll be taking off on April 12th, starting in Palermo for some caponata e sfincione (thick pizza), panellle (chickpea fritters), and crochet (fried mashed potatoes). Then to Agrigento for their olive oil, cheeses, grilled meats, and cassata cakes. We’ll stop in Bronte for (everyone’s’ favorite) pistachios. All while sipping wine and visiting the rich culture and history of Palermo, Agrigento, Taormina, Catalina & Syracuse, and won’t miss Mt. Etna of course.
We’re inviting you, and hoping you will join us as we make our way around new and exciting territory. We also know some of you have already discovered many things Sicilian and ask that you share them with us so we don’t miss anything really special.
So pack a bag, fasten your seat belt, and we’ll see you in Palermo in just a couple of weeks.
Marsha & Joel
Enjoy! We loved our week in Sicily! We had the world’s best cannolis in Taormina from a cafe/bakery in a pedestrian walking area on the hillside. Their outdoor tables had an unobstructed view out over the water!
Thanks, Carol. It’s on the list.
Have a wonderful trip! Looking forward to hearing all about it! Safe travels xxoo
