We’ve finally wound down from our great trip through northern and central Italy, so now…. We’ve always had Angkor Wat in Cambodia on our bucket list. And, since it’s a long, long trip, We thought it better to do now rather than later, if you know what we mean. We’re combining it with Vietnam and going with SmarTours (who’ve served us well over the years – when it’s best to have a formal itinerary).
We’re taking off Tuesday, February 23rd, from JFK non-stop to Shanghai. Then some long terminal hours until our flight to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) , arriving very late on the 24th.
We’ll spend the next three days seeing the local sights including the remnants of the Vietnam War and the Cu Chi Tunnels. An excursion of the Mekong Delta will take up one of those days. Then we’ll move north to:
- Hue, the former Imperial Capital of Vietnam
- Danang and Hoi An including China Beach
- Halong and the spectacular natural attraction of it’s Bay
- Hanoi’s rich French colonial history
- Siem Reap in Cambodia for its spectacular history, architecture, natural wonders, and…
- Angkor Wat
Please make sure you join us. You’ll be getting an email each time we post. Since we’re posting with an iPad the entire post will be in the email (not the best way to view it), so go to the bottom and click to see it on the web (best on a tablet or computer).
We’re looking forward to sharing the adventure with you!
