Planes, Trains, Automobiles….

Well we’re here…and Guatemala is amazing. But, the days are so full and long…and wifi so sparse so far that I’m delaying the blog for a while. In the meantime here are a couple of shots from our first day to whet your appetite:

Warm up for Tikal

Warm up for Tikal

Boat out to Topoxte on an island in Lake Yaxha. Kind of a miniture Tikal where we’ll be next. These pre-classical and classical structures of the Maya are still being unearthed, but stalled by lack of money and foreign archeologists “stealing” artifacts as “payment”.

Enjoy! My brother and I were there in 2001…one month after 9-11. We were almost only people from USA there, or flying anywhere those days. (our tickets were all prepaid, so we were going!) Priceless memories of Tikal, Antigua, and Lake Atitlan.
